My Dining Opinion
Opinions on dining probably vary as much as fingerprints but there are some definite common denominators that dictate a restaurant opinion.
Probably first and foremost would be the very reason why we dine out…and that’s all about the food. Whether it’s a “designer” food outing or a buffet from heaven it always comes down to our bellies and palates being satisfied.
Then there is the visual feast which chronologically speaking comes before the devouring. I had a Chef once that used to say “people eat with their eyes first” and he stuck to that credo which translated to stunning edible creations.
Of course I can not neglect the personal side of dining out and that’s SERVICE. Notice that I capitalized that word and I did so for a very good reason and that’s because all the hard work that goes into a dining experience for you can fall apart with poor service. The restaurant design and ambience were carefully considered for you, the chef put a lot of effort and thought into the menu and the server becomes your front line point of contact to tie it all together. Nothing is smoother than a server that knows his/her timing for taking away the appetizer remains, allowing a small buffer before the entree arrives perfectly presented with the offering of fresh cracked pepper, cutlery replacements if needed and of course time to enjoy the meal.
Why has this page been created? Simple. I know that you want share your dining experiences and I welcome those opinions but please remember that I will be moderating this BLOG which means that posting something like “ABC Restaurant was lousy” will not even make it to these pages. Be constructively critical about your experience with sound details and an informed opinion. Yes, we will post what most of the world calls “reviews” but we like to consider them as opinions and your opinion will count.
